91Ô­´´ Junior Thunder's Johnny Pearson (white) scored six goals in his team's 11-4 victory over Nanaimo on June 9. Pearson potted two more on June 13, but the Thunder lost 11-9 in overtime to New Westminster.

The New Westminster Junior Salmonbellies scored the only two goals of the 10-minute overtime period as they edged the 91Ô­´´ Junior Thunder 9-7.

The two junior A lacrosse rivals squared off on June 13 at the 91Ô­´´ Events Centre.

After a low-scoring first period — New Westminster led 2-1 — the teams exploded for four goals apiece in the middle frame. And the third period saw the ’Bellies score once while Brett Dobray potted a pair for 91Ô­´´ to tie things up and force the extra period.

Dobray also finished with an assist for a three-point night while Johnny Pearson notched a pair of goals.

Nathan Henare and James Rahe each scored once and set up one other and Nick Stone had the Thunder's other goal.

Spencer England made 32 saves in the defeat.

91Ô­´´ outshot New Westminster 46-41.

The loss drops the Thunder to 7-5 and fifth place in the B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League.

Up next for 91Ô­´´ is a game at Burnaby's Bill Copeland Arena on June 16.
