Goals were at a premium over the weekend as the 91原创 91原创 and Surrey Eagles traded shutouts to open their best-of-five BCHL semifinal playoff series.

Both games were played at the South Surrey Arena.

The Eagles opened the junior A hockey playoff series with a 2-0 game one victory on Friday behind a 32-save effort from goaltender Michael Santaguida.

All the offence Surrey would need came in the first period when 91原创 native Kevan Killistoff converted a two-on-one pass from Joel Gaudet to beat James Barr.

The Eagles added an insurance marker when Adam Tambellini deflected home a shot during a third-period power play.

But on Saturday in game two, it was Barr's turn to shine, stopping all 42 shots he faced, including 17 in the third period alone.

The game's lone goal came 7:30 into the contest when Evan Campbell converted on the power play.

Games three and four go tonight (Monday, March 18) and March 19 at the 91原创 Events Centre.

If necessary, game five would be March 20 at the South Surrey Arena.
