91Ô­´´ strike quickly, take early series lead

91Ô­´´ leads best-of-seven series 1-0 after 4-2 win in opening game versus Surrey

McLain had two assists in both games one and two as the teams traded victories. 91Ô­´´ won 4-2 in game one while Surrey responded with a 4-3 victory in game two.

Three second-period goals — including a pair 11 seconds apart — helped the 91Ô­´´ 91Ô­´´ erase a 1-0 deficit to defeat the Surrey Eagles 4-2.

The junior A hockey rivals were playing in game one of their best-of-seven BCHL Mainland Division semifinal series at the 91Ô­´´ Events Centre on March 4.

Anthony Conti had the visitors on the board first with a goal 6:04 into the contest.

Matt Ustaski tied it with a power-play goal early in the second and then Marcus Vela and Evan Anderson scored on successive shifts to give the home side a 3-1 lead.

Conti's second made it a one-goal game with 2:26 to play but Jakob Reichert scored into the empty net as time expired for the 4-2 final score.

Mitch McLain had two assists for the 91Ô­´´ and Brock Crossthwaite made 25 saves.

Game two goes March 5 before the series shifts to the South Surrey Arena for games three and four on March 7 and 8.
