A pair of locals helped the BC Aquasonics bring home the silver medal.
The Aquasonics senior national stream team came second in the senior FINA team free event over the weekend at the Canadian Open synchronized swimming championships.
They were held in Quebec City.
The team, which featured Aldergrove鈥檚 Amy Whitton, posted a score of 73.817 with their routine.
The routine, titled Mayan Calendar, was choreographed by 91原创 coach Susan Kemper.
鈥淓very member of the team brought their best to the pool tonight,鈥 Kemper said.
鈥淭hey gelled as a team at the right time. We believed they were medal contenders, and we accomplished what we set out to do.鈥
The Aquasonics had entered five events, bringing home awards in four of them. Awards are presented to the top six in each category.
Cloverdale鈥檚 Erin Williams was fifth in the solo (technical) and sixth in the sole (free) events.
Natasha Heine (Surrey) and Mackenzy Higgins (White Rock) were fifth in the duet (free) event.
And the Aquasonics Combo team placed seventh.
Up next for the club will be the U.S. Open synchronized swimming championships, which run from July 9 to 13 in Irving, Tex.
