Three to watch at the 2012 Olympic Games

Trio of Canadian athletes have ties to 91原创

The London Olympic Games run from July 27 to Aug. 12 and three athletes with ties to 91原创 will be representing Canada on the world鈥檚 biggest stage.

Dorothy Ludwig, who moved to 91原创 eight years ago, is competing in the 10m air pistol shooting competition.

The 33-year-old will compete in her event July 29.

This will be her first time competing at the Olympic Games. Her greatest international results include gold at the Pan American Games in 2011, team gold at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and silver at those same Games.

This will be the second Olympic Games for Hawley Bennett- Awad.

The equestrian athlete, who competes in eventing, will represent Canada for a second time, having previously done so in 2004 at the Athens Games. She will do so this time aboard Gin & Juice.

In 2004, she was on Livingstone, who has since retired.

Bennett-Awad鈥檚 event runs from July 28 to 31.

The 35-year-old was a member of Canada鈥檚 silver-medal winning team at the 2010 World Equestrian Games.

Bennett-Awad was born and raised in 91原创, but now resides in California.

Richard Hortness, a former member of the 91原创 Flippers Swim Club, will compete as a member of Canada鈥檚 4x100 freestyle relay team. The event runs July 29.

The 27-year-old also represented Canada at the 2008 Beijing Games.

Born in Medicine Hat, Alta., he grew up in Cloverdale and attended 91原创 Secondary. He now lives and trains in London, Ont.
