The defending league champions will be in the post-season dance.
The 91原创 Thunder 鈥� who last summer captured their first-ever Western Lacrosse Association championship banner 鈥� clinched a playoff berth thanks to an 11-10 overtime victory over the last-place Maple Ridge Burrards (3-13-1) on July 25.
The victory improved 91原创 to a league-best 11-6-0 with one game to play in the regular season.
Coquitlam sits in second place with 20 points while Victoria and Burnaby are tied for third with 18. New Westminster sits fifth with 16 points and all four teams have two games remaining.
The top four make the post-season and the regular season wraps up this weekend.
91原创 closes on the road against Burnaby on July 27.
Against the Burrards at the 91原创 Events Centre, Lewis Ratcliff forced overtime with 49 seconds remaining and Joel McCready scored the only goal of the extra 10-minute period. He struck 21 seconds into the period and Steve Fryer stopped all eight shots in OT.
Fryer finished with 22 saves, replacing Brodie MacDonalid midway through the game. MacDonald stopped 17 of the 23 shots he faced.
The Thunder had led 4-0 after one period but the score was tied at eight after two periods.
Garrett Billings led 91原创 with two goals and five assists, while Ratcliff and Athan Iannucci both had hat tricks.
McCready scored twice, while Alex Turner and Kerry Susheski had a goal apiece.
Both teams scored two goals on the power play.
