It was a tough two days for the 91原创 91原创, who suffered back-to-back losses at the hands of the Chilliwack Chiefs on Friday (Sept. 14) and Saturday (Sept. 15).
The first game was at home.
Brett Willit鈥檚 first BCHL goal with 9:45 left in the third period stood up as the winner as the Chiefs knocked off the 91原创 4-2.
After a scoreless first period in which the Chiefs outshot the 91原创 9-5, the Chiefs took a 2-0 lead on second period goals by Alex Marrocco and Jacob Slipec. Slipec鈥檚 goal came with the Chiefs shorthanded.
The 91原创 stormed back with late second period goals by Devin Leduc and Ethan Leyh to knot the score at 2-2 after forty minutes.
Kevin Wall鈥檚 empty net goal with two seconds left in the third period rounded out the scoring.
Mathieu Caron earned his first win of the season, turning away 22 91原创 shots.
Chilliwack finished 0/4 on the power play and 2/2 on the penalty kill.
On Saturday, the 91原创 visited the Chiefs.
Ethan Bowen鈥檚 first two goals of the season paced the Chiefs to a 5-2 win over the visiting 91原创 91原创 Saturday night at Prospera centre.
The win was the second straight for the Chiefs who improved to 2-2-0-0 on the season.
The teams were tied at one after one. Daneel Lategan opened the scoring with a goal that should not have counted. Overhead replays showed the puck hit the crossbar without crossing the goal line.
Bowen鈥檚 first of the night knotted the game at one.
The Chiefs dominated the middle period outshooting 91原创 24-5 and outscoring them 3-1. Chiefs goals game from Bowen, Cole Donhauser and Matt Holmes.
Harrison Blaisdell鈥檚 first of the season into an empty net in the game鈥檚 final minute rounded out the scoring.
The Chiefs finished the night 2/6 with the man advantage and 1/1 on the penalty kill.
Mathieu Caron earned the win for the Chiefs, stopping 23 91原创 shots. Alex Rolfe made 41 saves in his BCHL debut in goal for the 91原创.
The 91原创鈥檚 next home game is Saturday, Sept. 29 at 7:15 p.m.
