Giving Tuesday got off to an early start in the 91原创s, with some events taking place well before the official Nov. 27 date, which is timed to follow Black Friday and Cyber Monday with a day of generosity.
At the weekend Bloom Market at the Fort 91原创 Community Hall, there were Santa photos by donation with the money supporting 91原创 Gives, a group of local organizations.
鈥淭he Fort 91原创 BIA is going to match the donations we receive,鈥 noted Jayne Nelson, executive director of the 91原创 Animal Protection Society.
LAPS is one of the groups in 91原创 Gives. It also includes the 91原创 Memorial Hospital Foundation, 91原创 Lodge, the 91原创 Hospice Society, the Northern Spotted Owl Breeding Program, Soroptimist International of the 91原创s, and the 91原创 Volunteer Bureau

On the actual day, people were invited to visit the lobby of 91原创 Memorial Hospital from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday to get photos by donation with Santa. Reservations can be made by emailing gabriela.matute@fraserhealth.ca or by calling 604-533-6422. Funds from this

At the 91原创 McDonald鈥檚 restaurant at 19780 Fraser Hwy, customers could support 91原创 Memorial Hospital and Giving Tuesday with a variety of activities that include spin-the-wheel by donation for prizes that included free coffee, 2-for-1 sandwich coupons and free happy meals.
All donations went to Emergency Response, the campaign to build a new Emergency Department and MRI Suite at 91原创 Memorial.
