Shoppers will have up to two days to find bargains during the Township-wide garage sale.
The sale is slated for Saturday, May 24, and Sunday, May 25. People hosting sales can do both days or either day. The Township is suggesting people's sales run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"We actually got suggestions from residents last year," said Megan Shearer, a Township technical assistant. "A lot of people wanted to just host on one day and be able to see garage sales on the next day."
The Township makes it easy for residents to host a sale. They register through the Township website and their sale, with descriptive information about what sorts of items are up for grabs, is added to an interactive map that shoppers use to find the deals. The map shows which day or days people are having their sales.

Shearer said registrations are going well, on par with previous sales, but the true numbers won't be known until the registration deadline of Wednesday, May 21. There is no cost to participate.
"A lot of people apply at the last minute for it as well," she noted.
Many will be watching the weather forecasts to decide whether to host a sale.
The first Township-wide garage sale was back in 2019. It's been held a few times since, but this is the first time it's been held over two days. Township residents can hold a garage sale when their schedule suits but having so many sales at once throughout the community has a benefit for hosts.
"People seem to enjoy having at all at the same time," Shearer said, adding "It definitely brings a lot more people out."
The sales benefit the Township and residents by reducing the amount of stuff going the landfill which reduces waste management costs and extends the life of the landfill.
After the sale, people are responsible to clean up and remove unsold items. Some opt to put up a free sign, leave the items out for a day or two, and allow others to take what they can use. The Township will not be picking up unsold items, although properties with Township garbage pick-up do have the large item pick-up service (up to four large items such as couches can be hauled away annually from an address).
Gently used items that didn't sell can be taken to local thrift stores (call first to ensure they are items the store can accept). People can also try the What Goes Where tool on or call the Recycling Council of BC’s Recycling Hotline at 604-RECYCLE (732-9253).
