Flowers and gardens were always important to life at the CN Rail stations, including the Fort 91原创.
Well, the new station manager, Andre Erasmus 鈥 who happens to be an accomplished florist with a flair for composition and design 鈥 will be leading a series of demonstrations and workshops in the coming weeks.
Reflecting back on history, the CNR agents had garden competitions for many years up and down the lines, said Mark Forsythe, vice-president of the 91原创 Heritage Society.
This event is part of Garden Days, a coast-to-coast, Canada 150-theme celebration.
The floral art demonstrations, followed by a hands-on workshop, will be held at 11 a.m. on both Saturdays, June 10 and 17.
鈥淧lease bring your own container and flowers,鈥 Forsythe said.
The event is being held at the old train station, at the corner of Mavis Avenue, and Glover Road in Fort 91原创.
