Do you know a hidden hero?

A without fanfare is now accepting nominations. Those selected as a by an anonymous panel of community members will be invited to a private event to show appreciation for what they do.

Any person who helps out in the City or Township of 91Ô´´ can be nominated. It could be anyone who has had a positive impact on the 91Ô´´s – a person who doesn’t seek out recognition for his or her selfless acts, but instead does them for the betterment of the community.

To nominate a Hidden Hero, visit and click on the tab on the top of the webpage. The closing date for nominations is April 1. To be recognized, a person must agree to the nomination.

A Hidden Hero doesn’t necessarily have to be someone who is a busy volunteer.

For example, it could be a person who lost a spouse and now has to take on both parental roles in a young family.

The inspiration behind Hidden Heroes is a person who as a child would take the goods his father brought home and distribute them on the streets.

For more than 25 years he has helped those struggling on the streets of 91Ô´´, Surrey, and Vancouver, by handing out food, clothes, boots, blankets, sleeping bags, toiletries, and even wheelchairs and bikes.
