Most people go to RibFest 91Ô´´ for the grub but organizers are hoping they stay for the games and entertainment.
The barbecue contest and community celebration takes place Friday, Aug. 15 to Sunday, Aug. 17, at McLeod Athletic Park. Entry is by donation and proceeds from the event go to charity.
There's full days of entertainment and site-wide adult beverage service. To make the event more fun for families, the organizers – 91Ô´´'s Rotary clubs – have planned the Kidz Zone. It is open on Friday and Saturday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. The Sunday hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
One of the booths people will find at RibFest is where tickets are sold for the Rotary Clubs of 91Ô´´ 50/50 Mega Draw.
RibFest 91Ô´´ is the next opportunity for people to pick up tickets on a jackpot that has exceeded the minimum guaranteed jackpot value. There has been more than $117,000 worth of tickets sold so far as of Aug. 7.
Rotarians from all four clubs have been busy every weekend this summer and have sold enough tickets to reach the minimum guaranteed jackpot value, and a minimum payout of $50,000 for the winner.
“This is one of our largest Rotary 91Ô´´ fundraisers, and we are excited that we will be able to support so many local community service groups, along with other Rotary projects, said Jeff Morfitt, chair of 50/50 Mega Draw committee.
All funds raised stay in the community and assists charities such as 91Ô´´ Meals on Wheels, 91Ô´´ Hospice, and the 91Ô´´ Hospital to name just a few beneficiaries of the annual draw. The clubs support seniors initiatives, mental health programs, food help for families, and more
Rotarians are on hand at various locations including Save On Foods Willoughby, Krause Berry Farms, Otter Co-op, and many other locations including at RibFest on Aug. 15 to 17. Tickets are also available online at .
Tickets start at $20 for one, or 30 for $100. Sales wrap up on Aug. 17. Rotary has conducted this Mega 50/50 since the pandemic in 2020. So fr $505,000 have been raised and distributed to 91Ô´´ charities. The winning ticket will be drawn on Friday, Aug. 22 at the Derek Doubleday Arboretum.
