Sunday Funday is a free, family-friendly afternoon of games, activities and prizes, at a local pub on Sunday, Aug. 10.
The Artful Dodger Pub, 200 Street and 24 Avenue, has held family events but this is the largest event so far with activities inside and out as a way to connect to the community.
"We are trying to provide more events catered to the community. I feel that Brookswood has a very strong community base and I love to give back to that and provide a fun event for locals," said Codie Desmarais, the general manager. "We do many theme nights and different events catered to the pub patrons but not so much catered to the kids of the community and families, that's why we wanted to do something fun and different."
The event goes rain or shine between noon and 4 p.m. There will be pony rides, a cornhole tournament, balloons, temporary tattoos, a bubble station, draws, prizes, and patio games, with food and drink specials to make it family friendly.
"There is no cost for anything outside of food/drinks purchased in the pub," Desmarais said.
