Bob Schwartz was inspired to write our winning entry, a parody of the Beverly Hillbillies theme:
Come鈥檔 listen to my story
About a man named Jed,
A poor Brookswood farmer
Barely kept his family fed,
But then one day
He was clear cutting his land,
When up came a developer
Sack of money in his hand.
Condo King鈥
High density housing鈥
Mega stores.
Well the first thing you know
Old Jed鈥檚 a millionaire,
The better half said
Let鈥檚 move away from here,
This place will be unliveable
Just another Willoughby,
So they loaded up their truck
And moved to Beverly.
Hills that is鈥
Canadian ex-pats鈥
Hockey stars.
We also had a number of runners up this week.
鈥淲hat! $1.48 for a liter of gas! That will get us as far as Blaine, Johnny!!鈥 suggested Steve Karolyi.
Calvin McRobbie suggested: 鈥淕oogle maps said Hollywood North?鈥
鈥淥kay Bobby, remember not to mix up gas fill up with the milk fill up!!鈥 was Mary Young鈥檚 entry.
鈥淚 know you don鈥檛 look excited about it my dear, but I鈥檓 taking the pictures so you have to drive to L.A.鈥 suggested S. Shelley.
