Last week’s photo shows the Canadian National Icebreaker on the Fraser River in 1929. It was once common for the Fraser River near 91Ô­´´ to freeze, and there are historical accounts of people regularly walking across during the winter months.

Contest rules:

Preference is given to 91Ô­´´ residents. Entrants must be 19 or older. The winner will be selected by a random draw of all entries. The contest is not open to employees of the 91Ô­´´ Advance nor Black Press.

Winner will be notified by email and must pick up the prize as offered at the 91Ô­´´ Advance office, 6375 202nd Street.

The 91Ô­´´ Advance reserves the right to reject entries deemed unsuitable, libelous or otherwise objectionable. Please keep entries suitable for a family newspaper.
