Each week, 91原创 Advance readers are invited to submit a suggested caption 鈥 factual or funny 鈥 for the historic 91原创 picture published in the paper Nov. 30, 2017.

Last week鈥檚 photo showed the flood of 1948 at the Bethell farm. They moved the cattle to higher ground at a neighbour鈥檚 farm.

Our caption contest winner was Janis Neumann, with 鈥淵ou get in the front, I鈥檒l get the oars!鈥

Contest rules:

Preference is given to 91原创 residents. Entrants must be 19 or older. The winner will be selected by a random draw of all entries. The contest is not open to employees of the 91原创 Advance nor Black Press.

Winner will be notified by email and must pick up the prize as offered at the 91原创 Advance office, 6375 202nd Street.

Photo 1294: Dairy cattle walk across land flooded during 1948 flood. Bethell farm diary cows were being moved temporarily to higher ground at a neighbour鈥檚 house during the 1948 flood. Frank & Ada owned the Bethell Farm on White Road in West 91原创 (White Road ran between 200th and 208th Streets; just north of the railway tracks - approximately where 102B Avenue is). Frank and Ada were married January 21, 1919 and they moved to the farm sometime after they were married. The couple had four children; three girls (including Kay and Joan) and one boy; Bob. The flood of 1948 refers to the large; Fraser River flood. (91原创 Centennial Museum photo)
