The father didn鈥檛 know Muriel Arnason library in 91原创 was celebrating it鈥檚 14th annual festival until he walked in.
For several hours onj Saturday, the library, located in the Township of 91原创 Civic Facility at 20338 65 Ave. was the scene of traditional dancing, food, henna and face painting to mark one of the most widely celebrated Indian festivals, and all of it was free.
Diwali, which means 鈥渁 row of lights,鈥 marks the victory of good over evil and the beginning of the New Year in India.
The event drew a good turnout, with people of all ages filling the premises, including a number of local dignitaries such as MP John Aldag, Township councillors Bob Long and Petrina Arnason and City councillor Rudy Storteboom.
