Gallery 7 Theatre will be holding general auditions for its final production of the 2017/2018 ‘Mysteries of Life’ Theatre Season, The Mousetrap, on Tuesday, March 6.
The auditions will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the theatre’s administration and rehearsal hall, #100 – 34595 3rd Ave., Abbotsford.
All community performers ages 16 to 75 are welcome.
Mystery and intrigue surround six strangers stranded at an English boarding house during a snow storm when one among them is murdered.
The suspects include the newly married couple running the guest house, a spinster with an obscure background, an architect more suited to be chef, a retired Army major, and an unexpected arrival whose car has overturned in the snow.
The job of solving the murder falls to a policeman, who’s investigation rattles nerves and shakes many a skeleton in the closet.
“What better way to end a season about mystery than with a classic who-dunnit by the master of mystery writers, Agatha Christie?” said Executive/Artistic Director, Ken Hildebrandt.
“The Mousetrap holds the distinction of being the longest running play in history and will offer performers the fun opportunity to perform an eclectic mix of characters.”
The Mousetrap will be directed by Kate Muchmore Woo, who is assistant professor of theatre at Trinity Western Univeristy.
She also directed last season’s Gallery 7 production of Enchanted April and has directing and acting credits from around the United States and B.C.
The Mousetrap will run May 18 and 19, 23 – 26 at 7:30 p.m. with matinees on May 19 and 26 at 2 p.m. at the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium, 32315 South Fraser Way, Abbotsford.
Rehearsals will commence the week of March 19.
