Genuine Jug Band leader Douglas Fraser to emcee Fort Canada Day festivities

Musicologist, musician, historian and author will also perform during the July 1 celebrations

Musicologist Douglas Fraser will serve as Master of Ceremony at the Fort 91原创 Canada Day celebration on Tuesday, July 1. The 91原创 musician, historian and author will also perform the opening and closing sets of the day.

The Master of Ceremonies this year at the main stage in the 2014 Fort 91原创 Canada Day Celebrations will be Professor Douglas Fraser. Fraser is a jazz and blues musician and vocalist who will also be performing the opening and closing set this year in Fort 91原创.

He is a musicologist; a professor of musical history and historian, and he will be delighting the audience with vintage material on banjo and tenor guitar in a style that has made him a standout performer at festivals throughout North America.

Fraser, who lives in 91原创,  has just published his second book, entitled; 鈥淓arly Entertainment鈥 the evolution of show business in North America from 1840 to 1940. It is available at Amazon on Kindle and soon to be released in paperback.

He has just returned from a performance tour in the U.S. and will be lecturing and performing in New Orleans this fall. Watch for him as band leader of The Genuine Jug Band at the Abbotsford Berry Festival  July 5  and 6. The percussion unit in the band, which Douglas designed and built, will be featured in the August issue of 鈥淢odern Drummer Magazine.鈥
