A man has been charged in connection to a Surrey Police Service investigation into a Nov. 29, 2024 residential break-in where more than $200,000 worth of items were allegedly stolen.
Nicky Yuk Bun Law, 30, has been charged with several Criminal Code offences related to the break-and-enter, which occurred in Surrey's Newton neighbourhood last fall. SPS officers responded to the incident, where several luxury items were reported stolen, an SPS release said.
Investigators from SPS鈥檚 Prolific Offender Unit, with the assistance of the Richmond RCMP, identified a potential suspect and were able to recover several of the items from the residence.
On Jan. 28 this year, SPS investigators executed a search warrant in Richmond and recovered additional property believed by police to be stolen, the release noted.
On Wednesday, July 9, the following charges were approved by the BC Prosecution Service against Law:
鈥� Break and enter (1 count)
鈥� Theft over $5000 (1 count)
鈥� Possession of stolen property over $5000 (2 counts)
鈥� Trafficking in stolen property (1 count)
鈥� Possession of property for the purpose of trafficking (1 count)
鈥� Possession of break-in instruments (1 count)
Law is currently out of custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, in Surrey Provincial Court.
