Two 91原创 locals are performing a new take on Christmas this weekend with their upcoming performance of A Hillbilly Christmas.
91原创 couple Lenore and Marc Allen make up the entertainment duo called The Humbleton鈥檚, who wrote songs and scripted A Hillbilly Christmas.
A Hillbilly Christmas is a comedy puppet show that鈥檚 appropriate for the entire family.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a family event. We make a lot of people say 鈥業 have not laughed like that in a long time,鈥欌�� said Lenore.
A Hillbilly Christmas is described as 鈥渁 good ol鈥� down home hand clapping, knee slapping, hillbilly Christmas.鈥�
The show features the Pentab Praise Singers, Shaggy Baggy Buttom Boys, a black light puppet show, and various skits.
But the show also has a serious component.
The performance is a fundraiser sponsored by Pentab of BC for the SonBurst of Hope Ministries which is raising money for impoverished women and families in the Caribbean.
鈥淥ur heart is for the families,鈥� added Lenore.
The show begins at 2 p.m. on Dec. 1 at the Mary Pattison Chapel at Pacific Academy on 10238 168 St. in Surrey.
Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children. Children under 5 are free.
