A 91原创 indie-rock band is emerging with a fresh look, a different name, and a new single.
After years of writing and performing under different titles 鈥 mostly notably Little India 鈥 members Andrew Dixon, Dallyn Hunt, Tim Morrison and South African songwriter Conan Jurek, signed a record deal under the name Soul Push with Riptide Music Group earlier this year.
The idea for Soul Push was formed after the quartet decided to chase inspiration and temporarily move their lives to Europe.
After writing an album in London and recording it in a small town in Portugal, they returned to the North American scene.
鈥淎 lot of our music creation began in 91原创 and it鈥檚 where we have spent most of our lives,鈥 said bandmember Tim Morrison. 鈥淚t started with us making noise in either Dallyn鈥檚 bedroom or Conan鈥檚 Aunt and Uncle鈥檚 garage 鈥 and most definitely annoying the neighbours. Now, after living in Europe for two years, we have built a fully equipped recording studio in 91原创 - it will always be where we call home.鈥
Harmonizing modernism with the romance of music鈥檚 earlier decades, the group affirms that there is still an art in storytelling.
For them, music isn鈥檛 about finding an identity; it鈥檚 about exploring new ones 鈥 referring to their original sound 鈥淩&B meets rock-pop 鈥 gospel soul meets synthesizers.鈥
In 2019, they debuted their first track, 鈥淒iamonds鈥 alongside an enthusiastic music video with an inside-look on their time spent overseas.

Now, Soul Push鈥檚 debut single 鈥淭ender鈥 will be released Friday, April 17, along with a music video featuring creative collaboration between artists during isolation.
Using FaceTime and numerous voice notes to collaborate with the featured vocalist on the track, Toronto based singer Willa, 鈥淭ender鈥 is described a song about long distant romance, and the heartache that one endures with it.
When two lovers are forced into a distance-driven relationship, they have no choice but to revert to technology to express any sort of connection with one another.
Eighteen dancers and each of the band members filmed themselves in their home settings while using 鈥淭ender鈥 as a backing track to improvise and create a bright and unique music video during isolation across three countries 鈥 Canada, USA, and Mexico.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, Soul Push wants to continue on this trend of distant collaboration by bringing artists together from around the globe and giving them an opportunity to express their creativity through alternative outlets.
鈥淲e hope that when people hear Tender they will understand our new identity as a band,鈥 said Dixon. 鈥淭his song is a perfect example of the genre bending we are going for and it sounds like nothing we鈥檝e released before. Simply put, we want this new Soul Push era of ours to be limitless and a genuine representation of what we enjoy in music.鈥
