Today is the start of public consultation on the two block section of Fraser Highway through 91原创 City known as the One Way .
The City is looking for resident and business input between Sept. 20 and Oct. 4 on suggested redevelopment options for the retail street.
鈥淓very year, we see more people moving to 91原创 to enjoy everything our community has to offer. Initiatives such as the Fraser Highway One-Way Improvement Project help us to plan together for the future and give everyone a say in what our downtown should look like,鈥 said Mayor Ted Schaffer. 鈥淲e are excited to provide designs that reflect what people said they wanted, and to hear which design people prefer and why.鈥

The City is replacing the underground serving (water, sewer and other utilities) and will use the construction as an opportunity to redevelop the One Way.
Draft options include items such as trees and greenery, public spaces (patios and gathering spots), and improved pedestrian amenities (safer crosswalks, sidewalks and lighting).
City staff involved in the project will be on hand at the open houses to answer questions.
Saturday鈥檚 open house is in the Timms Community Centre, multipurpose room 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Tuesday open house is 5 to 8 p.m. in council chambers.
