City of 91原创 showed off its newly renovated outdoor terrace during a grand opening ceremony Friday night at City hall.

While refreshments were served, Mayor Val van den Broek shared the key components of the outdoor addition, which was the final component of the Timms Community Centre renewal project.

The patio was the last phase of the new Timms Centre that officially opened in 2016.

Altogether, the construction of the terrace cost the City approximately $400,000.

The space will be used for a multitude of special events including retreats, weddings, receptions, programs, and more.

鈥淚t鈥檚 just a nice space and it鈥檚 good to be outside getting the fresh air,鈥 added van den Broek.

The mayor and several councillors participated in an official ribbon cutting, with students from the 91原创 Community Music School provided entertainment for the evening event.

City chief administrative officer Francis Cheung said the outdoor terrace has been in the making for approximately nine months.

Cheung also confirmed the terrace will be open year round. He added it allows for a 鈥渃ozy, intimate atmosphere鈥 in the City.

The space 鈥 formerly the main entrance to the old City hall 鈥 is located on the corner of Douglas Crescent and 204th Street, and is now only accessed from inside City hall.
