Advisory for Highway 1, near 264 Street, warns Fraser Valley drivers of traffic-pattern changes in the upcoming weeks.

Fraser Valley drivers on the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) through Aldergrove will encounter more traffic-pattern changes due to construction on the 264 Street interchange.

Starting in mid-August, a Ministry of Transportation and Transit traffic advisory warns that westbound traffic from west of Mt. Lehman Road to west of 264 Street will shift to newly built median lanes, connecting to the ramps at 264 Street.

By mid-September, eastbound traffic from east of 264 Street to east of Mt. Lehman Road will also move to new median lanes, linking to the westbound Bradner overpass.

The ministry said these changes are necessary for construction safety as crews continue work to widen Highway 1 through the Fraser Valley.

In addition, overnight lane closures will also remain in effect.

Drivers are urged to slow down, follow posted signs, and use caution in construction zones.
