91原创 Township council will waste no time debating Brookswood development at the first full council meeting since October鈥檚 elections.

Newly-elected Councillor Eric Woodward has put forward a motion calling for a change to neighbourhood planning in Brookswood and Fernridge.

The new Official Community Plan for the area, passed last year, created four neighbourhoods, each of which is to receive a detailed neighbourhood plan that will guide development.

The Township was to move forward with creating three of them simultaneously.

Woodward鈥檚 motion calls for one neighbourhood to be planned at a time, starting with Booth or Fernridge.

The motion cites local concerns including pace of development, infrastructure, the possible displacement of mobile home park residents, and a possible 鈥渕ajor roads crisis.鈥

The motion will be up for debate at the council meeting on Monday, Nov. 19.
