Abbotsford police are investigating five incidents in which pellet/airsoft guns were allegedly shot at pedestrians on Wednesday night (Aug. 6).
According to a news release from the Abbotsford Police Department, investigators are working to determine whether the series of reported random incidents on Abbotsford roadways between 6:20 p.m. and 9:46 p.m. are connected
Police say one person suffered a minor injury.
鈥淚n each case, the victims described a white or light-coloured SUV鈥攐ccupied by younger South Asian males鈥攁pproaching them, followed by either the visible production of a firearm from within the vehicle or the sound of shots being fired in their direction,鈥 police said.
The Abbotsford Police General Investigative Section (GIS) is investigating the incidents, and the department has released photos to help with identification.
Police are asking for the public鈥檚 help with information and dash camera footage from Peardonville Road and Emerson Street between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., Mt Lehman Road and Sandpiper Drive between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., the 3100 Block of Mt Lehman Road between 7:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m., George Ferguson Way and Gladwin Road between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., and the 32900 Block of South Fraser Way between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
