Editor: I was hit by a car while crossing the street in a marked crosswalk on Sunday, Feb 18. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. The first responders (firefighters, police, and paramedics) were outstanding as usual.

Editor: I just wanted to thank the Times for the write up on the jazz night (at Porter鈥檚 Bistro). My dad is 86 and a huge jazz fan. He has attended jazz festivals all his life with my mom. He recently took us to see a fellow in Vancouver last year who he has watched for years.The son and grandson were performing as well.

Editor: In his editorial (the Times , Feb. 21) Mr. Kidd of the Penticton Western News makes the assertion that in the US there have been 18 school shootings in the US since Jan. 1, 2018. He must not have been listening to any news this year, because had he been in the loop, he would know that the horrible massacre in Florida is the first for this year.
