Editor: I strongly agree with Avis Picton鈥檚 views that medically assisted death should be performed with the patient in mind.

Editor: It鈥檚 worked very well in the Netherlands 鈥� now it鈥檚 Canada鈥檚 turn.

Editor: I was hit by a car while crossing the street in a marked crosswalk on Sunday, Feb 18. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. The first responders (firefighters, police, and paramedics) were outstanding as usual.

Editor: I am writing in response the 鈥渙pen letter from a frustrated volunteer,鈥� (the Times, Feb. 2). One of my volunteers just gave me a copy of this.

Editor: I just wanted to thank the Times for the write up on the jazz night (at Porter鈥檚 Bistro). My dad is 86 and a huge jazz fan. He has attended jazz festivals all his life with my mom. He recently took us to see a fellow in Vancouver last year who he has watched for years.The son and grandson were performing as well.

Editor: Regarding your article in the Feb 23 91原创 Times regarding 鈥�208th Widening,鈥�

Editor: Our governments are increasingly being swayed by very small but vocal segments of society. The result is we are seeing legislation, regulations and policies that cater to these small segments of society but ignore the wishes of the silent majority. In Canada and British Columbia particularly we have at least four of these issues at present.

Editor: In his editorial (the Times , Feb. 21) Mr. Kidd of the Penticton Western News makes the assertion that in the US there have been 18 school shootings in the US since Jan. 1, 2018. He must not have been listening to any news this year, because had he been in the loop, he would know that the horrible massacre in Florida is the first for this year.
