There were no injuries when a car smashed into the front of Champers Salons in 91原创's Walnut Grove neighbourhood on the morning of Friday, July 18.
The crash, at about 10:30 a.m., happened when the driver of a white Volkswagen hatchback was apparently pulling into a space in front of the salon.
The car jumped the curb, crashed over a bush, and hit the front wall. The impact shattered a window and bent some bars on the inside of the glass.
91原创 RCMP, Township firefighters, and BC Emergency Health Services paramedics responded to the crash. The car was rolled back away from the crash site into the parking lot.
The vehicle was leaking fluids at the scene, and had to be towed.
Fortunately, neither the driver nor anyone inside the salon were hurt, said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom, spokesperson for the 91原创 RCMP.
The driver was not impaired by drugs or alcohol, Sharoom said.
At about 2 p.m., a second car slammed into a building near the Nando's restaurant in Walnut Grove, and police and emergency services also responded to that incident.
Sharoom said there were again no injuries following this crash. The driver was a learner, and the cause is believed to be operator error.
