More than $730,000 was raised in RONA Foundation鈥檚 inaugural 鈥楬ome Sweet Home鈥 campaign across Canada to benefit charities in various communities.
The campaign ran from Sept. 1 to Oct. 9, at RONA stores across the country, from B.C. to Ontario.
The organizations benefiting from the campaign were each selected by the local RONA teams, prioritizing those what support victims of domestic violence and their children, low-income families, and people with special needs or mental health issues.
91原创鈥檚 RONA store picked Ishtar Women鈥檚 Resource Society for it鈥檚 campaign, because it supports women who have experienced violence in their lives, explained assistant store manager Stephen Betts.
鈥淲e wanted to contribute to a local non-profit in order to directly support our community, as we believe it is very important to give back to the community that has given us so much of their business over the years,鈥 Betts said.
A total of $734 was raised for Ishtar.
Participating stores located in the Lower Mainland included 91原创, Maple Ridge, Surrey, Abbotsford, Mission, and Chilliwack.
