Police expect that Highway 1 westbound in the area of 253 Street will be closed much of the night after a serious crash Sunday, Aug. 3.
91原创 RCMP were called to a serious crash at about 8:22 p.m.
"91原创 RCMP and the British Columbia Highway Patrol units are currently on the scene investigating this incident. The westbound lanes of Highway 1 are closed and traffic is being redirected at the 264 Street exit," 91原创 RCMP Sgt. Zynal Sharoom said.
He said on Sunday evening that there is no estimate on when the roadway will reopen. People should expect major delays and slow-moving traffic in that area.
"We are in the very early stages of the investigation, therefore are asking motorists to avoid the area and find alternate routes as the closure could last several hours," Sharoom said.
