Train tears apart RV stopped on 91原创 tracks

Driver appears to have gotten out before the crash

An RV that stopped on the railway tracks in 91原创 was smashed by an oncoming CN Rail train on Tuesday, March 5.

The crash happened at about 10:30 a.m., said Cpl. Craig Van Herk of the 91原创 RCMP.

The RV was heading south came to a stop on the railway crossing in the 9900 block of 201st Street, near the Golden Ears Bridge in the industrial area of Walnut Grove.

Video posted online shows the front end of the RV was still on the tracks as a train approached, where it had broken down, said Van Herk.

A man emerged from the RV and waved at the train, then retreated. The train was unable to stop in time, and it knocked the entire RV off the tracks, tearing it to pieces and leaving debris scattered over a wide area.

鈥淭hankfully no one was injured,鈥 said Van Herk.

CN Rail Police and 91原创 RCMP, along with 91原创 Township staff were on scene at the crash site.
