A Saturday night assault left a 91原创 woman with severe burns, and local RCMP are asking any potential witnesses to come forward to help with the investigation.
91原创 Mounties responded to a call of a woman in distress at 6:35 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, in the 20300-block of Fraser Highway, said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom.
The first officers on the scene found the 33-year-old victim suffering from burn injuries. She was rushed to a local hospital for urgent medical treatment, and remained in hospital in stable condition as of Monday, July 14.
This does not appear to be a random act," said Sharoom. "We believe the victim was deliberately exposed to an unknown substance, resulting in serious burns consistent with an intentional act,
said Sharoom. We鈥檙e urging anyone who may have information about this incident to contact our investigators.
Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the attack, as well as anyone who was driving in that area and has dashcam footage from around that time.
