People were lining up at the entry gates before the doors opened at the sixth annual Brewhalla Beer and Music Festival in Fort 91原创.
Over 2,000 people attended the event on Saturday, May 20, hosted by the Red Door Events group.
Eight different artists performed originals and cover songs on stage. Over 30 craft breweries, wineries, and cideries were featured 鈥� with non-alcoholic options available as well.
Lise Reimer, general manager at Red Door Events, said the event was a hit.
鈥淚t鈥檚 really great. We are always trying to push the limits a little bit. After COVID, we decided to expand into other communities,鈥� she said.
Last year, a Brewhalla event was hosted in Fort 91原创, Cloverdale, Port Moody, and North Vancouver.
Money is being raised for Watershed BC, a non-profit that advocates for watershed security.
Reimer said Watershed BC was chosen because water is the main ingredient of beer and is important to everyday life.
At the Fort 91原创 event, donations for Watershed BC were raised through bins and a dunk tank. For $2, guests got three tries to dunk a volunteer into the water tank.
Funds will be counted at the end of the year and then donated, Reimer said.
Reimer said it鈥檚 rewarding to see people鈥檚 excitement when the gates open for the festival.
鈥淚 love my job, I love putting this together.鈥�
The next Brewhalla event is planned for August in Port Moody.
This year, Reimer said they are adding Chilliwack to the list for an event in October.
