Sam Maillet, nicknamed the Mullet for his 1970s hairstyle, is one of two players who will be back on the courts when the Vancouver Bandits open their season at the end of May.
Fresh off a national championship with the University of Victoria, this will be Maillet鈥檚 second stint in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). He was previously with the Bandits in 2024 as a developmental player.
This signing marks his first full-time contract in professional basketball.
鈥淚 am excited to be back with the Bandits for another season and can鈥檛 wait to get started鈥 I鈥檓 looking forward to playing in front of the best fans in the CEBL, growing alongside the great people in the organization and another summer of bodies flying,鈥 said the 6 ft. 7 in. guard from New Brunswick.
He鈥檒l be joined by Toronto guard Duane Notice, who is also re-signed to the Bandits.
Notice ranks second in all-time games played for the Bandits, with 43 appearances since 2023, and ranks second in target score game winners in franchise history.
The Bandits start the season with a game in Saskatchewan against the Rattlers on May 15. They'll make their first appearance at home on May 22, at the 91原创 Events Centre, when they host the Niagara River Lions.
Then, two days later they鈥檙e at LEC again, hosting the Edmonton Stingers.
