50-year-old man dies in single-vehicle collision near Mission

A 50-year-old Deroche man died in a single-vehicle collision on Thursday (Sept. 21), Mission RCMP say.

Police were called to Husband Road in Deroche at approximately 6 p.m. for a serious single-vehicle crash where the driver was ejected from the vehicle.

Witnesses to the crash were performing CPR on the driver when first responders arrived. Despite the efforts of witnesses and first responders, the man died on the scene.

There were no passengers in the vehicle.

鈥淢ission RCMP would like to thank the witnesses who stopped and performed CPR until paramedics arrived,鈥 the detachment said in a statement.

The RCMP鈥檚 Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service team, as well as Mission RCMP鈥檚 Traffic Services unit, attended and their investigation is ongoing.

Those who witnessed the collision but have not yet spoken with police are urged to call Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161.
