A former South Surrey real-estate agent who ventured into modeling is now making headlines around the world as she faces drug charges in the U.S., following an arrest in California this month.
Krista Boseley 鈥� who grew up in 91原创鈥檚 Brookswood neighbourhood 鈥� and a man identified as B.C. native Gilles LaPointe, 61, were arrested at an airport in Orange County, Calif. on Oct. 9.
According to U.S. District Court online documents, the pair arrived by private plane, reportedly with a cache of MDMA powder and pills, as well as a large amount of U.S. currency.
According to the documents, Boseley, 30, denied knowledge of anything illegal and stated that she and Lapointe had won the money gambling at a Las Vegas hotel.
An office manager at Re/Max Colonial Pacific Realty confirmed Monday that Boseley held a licence at that office for one year (around 2012-13) before taking a leave.
News this week of Boseley鈥檚 arrest is 鈥渁 shock to us,鈥� said the manager, who asked to not be identified. 鈥淭here was never any evidence of anything going on.鈥�
The Re/Max manager told Peace Arch News that his office turned Boseley's real estate licence over to the Real Estate Council of B.C. after she decided to take the leave. The move is standard practice in such situations, he said.
He noted it is also standard practice for agents to undergo a criminal-record check prior to obtaining their licence, and that Boseley鈥檚 鈥渃ame back with no issues.鈥�
In an online profile promoting her real-estate experience, Boseley describes herself as 鈥渂usy enough to be happy and successful, yet not so busy that I can鈥檛 take a personal interest in every client.鈥�

Boseley reportedly attended a casting call for Playboy in Vancouver in 2004. Until last week, the website Model Mayhem 鈥� used by industry insiders 鈥� hosted several images of her posing in swimwear.
