91原创 RCMP make poppy box arrest

A 20-year-old man is the suspect in the theft of a poppy box from a 91原创 gas station on Friday.

A 91原创 police officer happened to be in the right place at the right time, after a 20-year-old man swiped a poppy donation box from the counter of a gas station in Murrayville on Friday.

Police were called around 10 p.m. after the  theft at a gas station in the 21600 block of Fraser Highway. The suspect fled on foot and a description of him was broadcast to officers in the area. He was spotted quickly and arrested with a large amount of change in his pocket. The 20-year-old, of no fixed address, will appear in court on Dec. 11.

It isn鈥檛 known if this is the same man responsible for the poppy donation box theft at Bibles for Mission in 91原创 City.

Thefts of poppy donation boxes were on the increase this year, leading to several arrests.
