Following the closure of the Summit Theatre at the end of last year, a larger live performance space is planned for Cascades Casino & Convention Centre.
Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Ltd. will renovate the convention centre space at the 91原创 City venue to create an improved live entertainment area.

The new configuration will allow for up to 600 guests, Gateway said in a project overview report. The Summit Theatre had room for 420.
鈥淲e are making renovations to the Cascades Convention space to allow us to better host musical events such as dinner and dances, concerts or four-wall events,鈥� said Tanya Gabara, director of public relations for Gateway Casinos.
鈥淩enovations would include the addition of a stage riser and modification of the ceiling structure to allow for retractable sound and lighting. The improvements to the sound will allow for better vocals during speaking engagements (conventions, fundraisers, etc.) and entertainment events.鈥�
This venue is currently open as the improvements are being made, with an Elvis tribute event scheduled in May.
Gateway said the former Summit Theatre was 鈥渕oderately successful,鈥� but was limited due to its size, which restricted the economies of scale for popular available acts, and the 19 and older age requirement for guests.
The new entertainment area is located outside the casino, meaning family-friendly shows can be accommodated.
鈥淭he renovated space is intended to host the larger paid live performances. Of note, this newly renovated area will allow for all-ages shows,鈥� Gabara told the Times.
鈥淥ur weekly free live entertainment will take place in Match Eatery & Public House and, once open, the new Atlas Steak + Fish with host a piano lounge with DJ for our guests鈥� enjoyment.鈥�
In place of the Summit Theatre, Gateway is still planning to relocate 400 bingo seats, as well as staff members, from Playtime Gaming at 19664 64 Ave.

Moving this facility has been Gateway鈥檚 plan since they acquired it in 2015, and they have been unable to find a suitable location within the Township, the project overview states.
鈥淪lot-playing bingo patrons will have access to Cascades Casinos鈥� exciting slot floor during bingo sessions, and all bingo patrons will have access to greater food and beverage offerings and options,鈥� the overview says.
