Man wanted by Burnaby RCMP after allegedly groping woman in Central Park

Burnaby RCMP continue investigation to find suspect in sexual assault incident

The suspect fled after groping woman who was walking alone in Burnaby's Central Park

Police are investigating after reports of a woman being groped by a man in Burnaby's Central Park on Wednesday (Aug. 20) evening. 

At about 7:24 p.m., a Caucasian male allegedly inappropriately touched a woman who was walking alone before running off into another park. The incident was reported to have happened near the 5900 block of Patterson Ave.

The woman immediately called the police and reported the incident, according to the Burnaby RCMP.

The man was described as wearing a white hoodie, black shorts and a multicoloured windbreaker.

He is approximately 5'6", 35 to 45 years old, with a slim build, brown eyes, and no facial hair.

The woman suffered no physical injuries and does not know the suspect, according to the RCMP. 

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crime or have information regarding the suspect to contact the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
