Dear Editor,
Open letter to all civilizations,
America welcomes Putin on American soil. The president of United States shakes his hand and gives him a warm greeting.
Something has been left out of this meeting which took place with the president of United States and the president of the Russian Federation. One of these presidents is wanted as a war criminal by the International Criminal Court, and the other ignores the alleged crimes against humanity that had been committed by this president.
The trial – the verdict – the sentencing has not been allowed to run its course. The evidence brought out into the light for the world to see. The crime scene more than the evening news and camera footage and the toll of agony and death. The witnesses. The crime against humanity of what horror a country's’ inhumanity against another and its inhabitants is released in justice, a trial, a moment of truth – the truth of justice.
The meeting on American soil seemed more of a – you know what I mean. How on earth does a country such as United States justify not slapping handcuffs on this guy, who day after day bombs civilian cities in Ukraine and lies to the world about such atrocities. Men, women and children dying in streets, bombed-out homes and suffering unimaginable and here on the soil of North America we host this person with the approval of the president of United States. Red carpet and all.
Putin invites the president to Russia for next meeting. Will Trump accept this invitation?
There was an opportunity to show to the world that crimes against humanity are unacceptable and to show to the world that United States isn’t going further down a slippery path of losing its way in the eyes of the world.
I wonder why the media didn’t bring this matter up as of yet? A war criminal that has an arrest warrant out on him and there is silence. Can you hear it? Deafening silence. And here we are now asking ourselves how does a person such as war criminal get invited to walk on the land a law-abiding citizen walks on.
What came out of this meeting where two presidents got together to end a war only amounted to a potential possibility of another meeting. The world knew nothing would come of this meeting. The war continues and so do the crimes against the civilian population.
What happened to all those statements from Trump of how he would bring excruciating pain on Putin if there wasn’t a peace treaty signed at this meeting? Silence, silence and more silence.
Face to face one president to the other but there was a third president, the president of Ukraine who had been left out of this meeting. I suggest if there is another meeting, it should take place in Ukraine, but I doubt if Putin would agree to this because more than likely he would be arrested, handcuffed and hauled away to stand trial. Yes, I believe the Ukrainian president would uphold international law where United States failed to recognize its merit.
What silence brings is a overwhelming amount of people asking why a war criminal and a moment in history was being unravelled on a red carpet where cries of justice resounds pounding upon the earth beneath the feet of these two men crying out loud in tears for justice, crying in pain of death in the streets of Ukraine, why international law wasn’t enforced when crimes against humanity are being committed. Why presidents of two powerful nations ignore the most horrific part of war – the crime against humanity – the purpose of Justice.
