LETTER: Rethink plans for Brydon Lagoon

Different plan would allow tree planting to start sooner, rather than later

91原创 City wants BC Hydro to do more to preserve habitat at Brydon Lagoon.

Dear Editor,

[RE: LETTER: BC Hydro defends work at 91原创 City's lagoon, July 14, www.langleyadvancetimes.com]

I think everyone knows BC Hydro needs expansion of electrical power.

That's not in dispute.

Their current plan is to expand using an underground duct bank which is great.

However, as quoted from the article, "Future overhead connections to other substations would be part of separate, later projects."

Why can't BC Hydro bury the two sets of electric lines that are right in front of Brydon Lagoon on the west side, so that tree planting could be done there now, so trees may start growing to protect the natural environment in the future.

This is strategic planning to see this natural habitat saved for future generations.
