Dear Editor,
[Re, Wildlife rehab starved for game meat, 91原创 Advance Times, April 30]
Thank goodness we have non-profits with volunteers and donors who rescue and rehabilitate our wild critters for release back into the wild. Although, as a hunter-gatherer myself for 80 years, I question the ethics of hunters killing healthy wild animals and donate meat from their family freezers to feed game meat to sick critters recovering in human care.
This can鈥檛 be right. Normally in the wild the sick become prey and the supply for healthy wildlife. We interfere and thrust ourselves into the mix.
Therefore, may I suggest roadkill and problem bears put down as a better source? Roadkill alone should resupply Critter Care鈥檚 freezers.
