Editor: Congratulations to The Times for its Remembrance Day issue (Nov. 8). The ’ written by Warren Sommer is a superbly-written history of the carnage of that epic battle that saw more than 57,000 soldiers killed. This was more casualties than sustained by Canada in the Second World War.
Complementing this graphic tale of horror were excellent articles and letters by Jim McGregor, Stan Penner and Mike Major on the theme of war and remembrance. Well done, gentlemen.
