The annual Union of B.C. Municipalities convention spent quite a bit of time talking about new wireless technology. Unfortunately, most of it was wasted on ignorance and fear, fanned by the NDP, Green Party and some like-minded opportunists in local government.

Three years ago, much of the attention was on the candidates running for the 91Ô­´´ Board of Education. This time around, Township council is drawing most of the interest.

When are the Township bureaucrats and the provincal government going to realize the Mufford Overpass is a complete white elephant?

This has to be another wake-up call to all drivers.

The shape of policing in B.C. is in much doubt, following revelations that the federal government and B.C. government are at odds over the next RCMP contract.

I hope 91Ô­´´ Township will be sympathetic to the equine community. Horses have a place here; to remove them would be to remove part of B.C.’s heritage.

The proposal to put an overpass on the Mufford route makes no sense.

B.C. might have shot itself in the foot with Ottawa’s gun by threatening that municipalities were prepared to abandon the venerable RCMP and form a provincial force.

This is a 350 per cent difference in costs, when comparing the U.S. medication to the Canadian medication.

Taxpayers, beware. The federation is not asking for small potatoes. Its requests could add up to $30 million.
