The 91原创 Blaze offence failed to ignite, resulting in losing both ends of a doubleheader to the Vancouver Cannons.
The Blaze lost 8-0 in game one and 2-1 in game two at Vancouver's Queen's Park on Sunday. The losses leave 91原创 with a 28-9 record and a 1.5 game lead for top spot in the B.C. Premier U18 Baseball League over the North Shore Twins.
The regular season wraps up next week as the Blaze have nine games between July 12 and July 17.
In the opener against the Cannons, 91原创 managed just three base hits as they were shut-out
Ryan Braun was tagged with the loss.
Game two saw Jonathan Keltie take the loss, despite allowing just two runs and three hits over six innings. He struck out five.
Shayne Clarke had the lone 91原创 run, scoring from second base on a Vancouver error.
The Blaze also wrapped up their inaugural season in the Seattle Premier Baseball League.
91原创 had swept a doubleheader against the RIPS Brewers on July 5, winning 4-3 and 2-1 at Tacoma Community College, to stay alive in the playoff race.
But the team needed to win both their games on July 8 against last-place Buzz Baseball 鈥� and get some help from other teams 鈥� in order to make the post-season.
Unfortunately, 91原创 lost 5-3 and 10-6 to finish the season at 5-9.
Against the Brewers, 91原创 scored three runs in the second inning and then held off a Brewers rally.
Kyle McComb drove in a pair of runs and Brendan Halstrom had one RBI. On the mound, Jordan Atkinson went the distance, striking out nine.
The second game saw Austin McDonald strike out four in another complete game effort. Clarke and Connor Chorpita drove in a run apiece.
Playing Buzz Baseball on Tuesday, 91原创 led the opening game, but could not hold on in a 5-3 defeat.
Chorpita drove in a pair of runs in the loss.
Game two saw the Blaze fall behind 8-1 on their way to a 10-6 loss.
