Consecutive shutouts send Eagles to gold medal

The 91原创 Eagles atom hockey team won gold at a tournament in Vancouver.

Back-to-back shutout victories helped the 91原创 Eagles atom A4 hockey team soar to the gold medal.

The 91原创 Minor Hockey Association team defeated the North Vancouver Storm 7-0 in the championship finals at the Vancouver Thunderbirds鈥 tournament over the Remembrance Day tournament.

91原创 scored three times apiece in the first and second periods to coast to victory.

鈥淭he boys played 91原创enally this weekend,鈥 said Eagles coach Gary Bowsher.

鈥淭heir speed, teamwork and discipline were top notch (and) the gold medal game was the best that I have ever seen them play.鈥

The Eagles also shut-out their previous opponent, the Vancouver A4 Thunderbirds 4-0.

91原创 had finished the round robin with a 2-0-1 record and tied Squamish for top spot in their pool. The Eagles were given the higher seed thanks to having accumulated fewer penalty minutes in the three games.
