Fredeman earns player of the week honours

Trinity Western goaltender notches shutout, back-to-back wins for hockey team

Trinity Western Spartans Harry Fredeman was named the B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League's player of the week after stopping 78 of 80 shots to help his team win twice.

Trinity Western men鈥檚 hockey goaltender Harry Fredeman has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League鈥檚 Player of the Week.

Fredeman led the Spartans to a pair of home wins  at the 91原创 Events Centre over Victoria Friday and Saturday, boosting TWU鈥檚 regular season record to 4-1.

On Friday, the 21-year old netminder was the difference in a game where his team was outshot by a 38-21 margin. Fredeman allowed just a pair of goals.

Then, on Saturday afternoon, Fredeman shut down the Vikes offence entirely to the tune of a 42-save shutout. His tremendous play peaked during a 24-save middle frame.

Fredeman is unbeaten in four starts this season and currently leads all BCIHL starters with a 1.15 goals-against average and .966 save-percentage.
