James Malm has signed a Western Hockey League player agreement with the Vancouver Giants.
"I am honoured to have signed with my hometown team, the Giants," Malm said.
"I grew up watching the team and was excited when I found out I was drafted by the Giants."
Malm, who turned 16 on June 25, was a second round pick (44th overall) of Vancouver in the WHL bantam draft in May.
Malm is a five-foot-eight, 161-pound forward.
The 91Ô´´ teen — he played with the 91Ô´´ Minor Hockey Association before switching to the Burnaby Winter Club last season — had 70 goals and 144 points in 56 games in the Pacific Coast Bantam A Hockey League.
