A new regional playoff format is set to begin next season for teams.
The champions of the , the , the and the will compete along with one host team at the newly-created .
The inaugural event will be hosted by Nanaimo April 26 to May 5.
The 13-game tournament will include a round-robin schedule, two semifinal games and a championship game.
Both the Western Canadian champion and the runner-up will advance to the RBC Cup, Canada鈥檚 national junior A championship.
The host site will alternate between the four leagues.
